License and updates

Your license key is in the purchase email and under My account → License keys on terrificotheme.com. Keys look like TFPRO-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.

What the license does

Works without a license Needs an active license
The theme, Theme Options, widgets, everything you already imported Automatic updates · demo imports · support

The theme is GPL: nothing on your site stops working if the license expires or is deactivated. You just stop getting updates and new demo imports.

Activate

Terrifico → License, paste the key and click Activate. The screen then shows your plan, how many sites the key is active on, and when it expires.

Plan Sites

Business 5
Agency unlimited

Local and staging sites don't count. Addresses like localhost, *.local, *.test, staging.*, dev.* and the staging domains of WP Engine, Kinsta, Flywheel, Pantheon and Cloudways can be activated freely.

Move a license to another site

On the old site: Terrifico → License → Deactivate. That frees the activation, and you can then activate the key on the new site. If the old site is gone, contact support and we'll free it for you.

Updates

With an active license, new versions of Terrifico Pro and Terrifico Core appear in Dashboard → Updates, like any other theme or plugin. Click Check again there to look straight away; otherwise WordPress checks twice a day.

  • Update the plugin and the theme together: each release is tested as a pair.
  • Your Theme Options, pages and child theme are kept.
  • Theme Options keeps its own history: Theme Options → Backup & history can restore an earlier version of your settings.

When the license server can't be reached

Your site keeps its last known license status, so a network problem never locks you out. The status is checked again in the background once a week.
