A demo is a complete starter site: pages built with Elementor, images, menus, footer widgets, a contact form and matching Theme Options. Import one, then replace the text and photos with your own.
| Demo | For | Pages |
|---|---|---|
| Landing (free) | Software and service businesses, product launches | One-page home with sign-up form, features, pricing and results, plus a blog |
| Studio (default) | Agencies, studios, freelancers | Home, Work, Studio, Services, Journal, Contact |
| Salon | Hair and beauty salons, spas | Home, Services & Prices, Team, Book an appointment, Journal |
| Restaurant | Restaurants, bars, cafés | Home, Menu, Private Dining, Reservations, Journal |
| Roofing | Roofers, builders, home-service trades | Home, About, Services, Projects (before/after), Contact, Blog |
Every demo comes with three sample blog posts.
Landing: installed when you activate the theme
Landing is free and ships with Terrifico Core, so it needs no license and no download. When you activate Terrifico Pro (or Terrifico Core while the theme is active), Landing installs itself in the background: open any dashboard page and a notice shows the progress, then Your site is ready with the Landing demo.
- It installs Elementor and Contact Form 7 if they're missing.
- It adds its pages, posts and images next to your own content, sets its home page as the front page and applies its Theme Options (saved in Backup & history first).
- It doesn't run again while Landing is installed, so activating the theme again never adds a second copy.
- Don't want it? Remove it under Terrifico → Demos. Your earlier Theme Options and widgets come back.
Import a demo
Terrifico → Demos (or the Demo step of the setup wizard).
- Click Preview to see the live demo, or Import to start.
- The dialog lists the plugins that will be installed (Elementor, and Contact Form 7 for the form).
- Click Import demo and keep the window open. Most demos take under a minute; slow hosts can take two or three.
What an import does:
- Adds the demo's pages, posts, images, menus and footer widgets. Your existing pages and posts are kept.
- Replaces your Theme Options with the demo's colors, fonts, header and footer. This is saved as one step in Theme Options → Backup & history, so you can restore your earlier settings with one click.
- Sets the demo home page as your front page and the blog page as your posts page.
- Doesn't change your site title, tagline, users or other plugins' settings.
Demo imports need an active license.
Import again
Importing a demo that's already imported replaces the earlier copy: the pages, posts and images it added are removed first, including changes you made to them. Content you created yourself is not touched.
Remove a demo
Terrifico → Demos, then Remove on the imported demo. This deletes the pages, posts, images, menus and footer widgets that demo added, and puts back any widgets you had there before. Your own content stays.
When you remove the last demo on the site, Theme Options go back to how they were before your first demo import (or, on a fresh site, to Terrifico's plain white-and-black defaults). The demo's settings stay in Theme Options → Backup & history, so you can restore them from there.
Contact forms
The demo forms use Contact Form 7. Messages go to the site's admin email (Settings → General → Administration Email Address). To change the recipient or the fields, edit the form under Contact → Contact Forms.
Many hosts don't deliver WordPress mail reliably. If test messages don't arrive, install an SMTP plugin (for example WP Mail SMTP) and connect it to your mailbox or a mail service.
If an import stops
The dialog shows what failed and offers Try again, which carries on from the step that failed. Common causes:
- Timeouts on slow hosts: ask your host to raise
max_execution_timeto 120 or more. - Memory: raise the PHP memory limit to 256 MB (System Status shows the current value).
- "Activate your Terrifico license to import demos": see License and updates.
- A plugin couldn't be installed: install it yourself from Plugins → Add New, then import again. On older PHP versions Terrifico installs the newest release of a plugin that still supports your server.
