Troubleshooting and FAQ

Start with Terrifico → System Status. It checks your PHP version, memory, time limits, upload size and the plugins Terrifico needs, and marks anything below the recommended values. Include its report when you contact support.

Installation

"The link you followed has expired" when uploading the theme.
The zip is bigger than your host's upload limit. Ask your host to raise upload_max_filesize and post_max_size to 64 MB, or upload the unzipped folder by SFTP.

"The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet."
You uploaded the whole download instead of the theme zip. Upload terrifico-pro-<version>.zip from inside it.

The setup wizard didn't open.
It only opens by itself once. Find it under Terrifico → Setup wizard.

License

"This license is already active on the maximum number of sites."
Deactivate it on a site you no longer use (Terrifico → License → Deactivate), or upgrade your plan. Local and staging sites don't count.

"The license server did not respond correctly" or the activation spins and fails.
Your server can't make outgoing HTTPS requests to terrificotheme.com. Some security plugins and firewalls block this; ask your host to allow it. Your site keeps working in the meantime.

No updates show up.
Check that the license is active, then click Dashboard → Updates → Check again.

Demos

The import stops or times out.
Click Try again: the import carries on from the step that failed. If it keeps stopping, raise max_execution_time to 120 seconds and the memory limit to 256 MB.

Images are missing after the import.
Usually the uploads folder isn't writable, or the import ran out of time during Importing images. Fix the folder permissions or raise the time limit, then import the demo again.

The demo looks different from the preview.
Clear your caching plugin's cache and your browser cache. If you use a CDN, purge it too. Then check Elementor → Tools → Regenerate CSS & Data.

The contact form doesn't send email.
WordPress mail often isn't delivered by shared hosts. Install an SMTP plugin such as WP Mail SMTP.

Design

My changes in Theme Options don't show.
Clear your caching plugin's cache. If Save Theme Options CSS as a file is on and your uploads folder isn't writable, turn it off (Theme Options → Performance) or fix the folder permissions.

Colors I set in Elementor don't follow Theme Options.
Only colors picked from Elementor's global colors follow Theme Options. A color typed in by hand stays as it is.

The logo is unreadable over the photo in the header.
Upload a light version under Theme Options → Header → Light logo.

A plugin stopped working after turning on "Load jQuery in the footer".
That plugin expects jQuery in the head. Turn the setting off again.

FAQ

Do I need Elementor Pro? No. Everything uses free Elementor.

Can I use the block editor instead of Elementor? Yes for posts and simple pages: the theme styles all core blocks. The demos and Terrifico widgets need Elementor.

Does it work with WooCommerce? Yes. Shop pages sit inside the Terrifico layout with WooCommerce's own styling, and Theme Options → Shop sets products per row, per page and the sidebar. A dedicated shop demo with full shop styling is planned.

Is it translation-ready? Yes. Every text in the theme and plugin can be translated with Loco Translate or a .po file, and right-to-left languages are supported.

Does it work with multilingual plugins? Terrifico follows WordPress standards, so WPML and Polylang work. Translate Theme Options texts (header button, copyright) with their string translation tools.

What happens when my license expires? Your site keeps working exactly as it is. You stop getting updates, new demo imports and support until you renew.

Can I use it on client sites? Yes. Each site needs an activation; the Business and Agency plans cover more sites.

Is my site GDPR-friendly? The theme loads no third-party resources: fonts are downloaded to your server and the theme sets no cookies. Plugins you add may behave differently.
